52.03.06  Dramaturgy




Bachelor’s Degree

Screenplay - the basis of the film. Ability to write a story that the director wants to turn into a movie, is depending on the talent of playwright. But any talent requires the development of skills and opportunities as a student to find his own style. How professionals think, good script is the foundation of success of any film.

Every group of students-screenwriters is  by supervisor - famous playwrights and scriptwriters. Among them, the winner of the State Prize of the USSR screenwriter Yuri Klepikov ("Mother married", "Dauria", "Climbing", "Summer trip to the sea", "Guys"), screenwriters, laureates of international and all-Russian festivals and competitions Nikolai Vinokurov, Polina Stepanova, Anna Ganshina, Irina Efimova and others.

Future playwrights are trained at the Department of Dramaturgy and Cinema Studies, which is headed by Doctor of Art History, Professor, author of scripts and monographs on drama, winner of All-Russian competitions Svetlana Melnikova.

During the training, students learn all genres and formats of cinema and the qualification work is a feature film script. Students-screenwriters practically works with future directors, cameramen, sound producers - to create training, course and degree projects.

Graduates could take part in cinematographic and literary processes acting as authors of screenplays, or literary versions for TV and Radio programs. They could work as Editors at film studios, at producer centres, editorial offices of magazines and newspapers, TV studios and channels.

Master’s Degree

      Education in the magistracy involves a higher and deeper level of mastering film drama and a scientific understanding of the film process in order to write a master's thesis.

      Graduates can take part in the cinematographic and literary process as the author of the script, the creator of the literary basis for television and radio programs, engage in the analysis of film and television drama in the special and general press, be an editor at film studios, in production centers, editorial offices of newspapers and magazines, television productions; carry out educational activities in educational institutions.

      The training of masters is carried out at the Department of Scenary Art "School of Viktor Ivanovich Merezhko".
