4 May 2017

On April 27, the final of the IV International Festival of sound engineering works "INTONATIONS-2017" took place in the cinema hall of the University. The jury was named winners, marked with prizes, diplomas and memorable gifts. A real gift for the participants and guests of the festival was a master class by the famous Russian composer, Honored Artist of Russia Alexander Knaifel.

The aim of the festival-competition "INTONATIONS", which became traditional in our University, is the display and free discussion of the results of the creative workshops, demonstration and assessment of the creative achievements of the students of the sound engineering department, the strengthening of connections, the expansion of creative and professional contacts, the exchange of experience and ideas between creative workshops and other film schools. Selection and program of films was formed by workshop managers. Evaluation of student works participating in the festival, carried out a professional jury, which was headed by sound engineer Sergey Moshkov.

The Grand Prix of the festival was given to Artem Budnikov for the film "Rock-n-Roller". Speaking to the participants and guests of the festival, jury chairman Sergey Moshkov noted his creative atmosphere and high potential, congratulated the winners and encouraged young filmmakers to be responsible in their work.

A real gift for the festival participants was also a creative meeting with the famous Russian composer, Honored Artist of Russia Alexander Knaifel. Together with his assistant, sound engineer Boris Alekseev, the master presented to the attention of students six phonograms created at different times, and combined into a large-scale project "Knaifelfilmofoniya".

During the master class, the students listened to six tracks of the composer, which caused different sensations for different people. Unite them, according to general opinion, one thing - a deep meaning.
During the discussion, was sounded the opinion that the seventh musical fragment was the aftertaste - silence. Alexander  Knaifel agreed with this statement, adding:
- Music is really born out of silence, so you "heard" it. It is very important in many cases, after the final chords, just keep silence.
In response to a question about what the composer feels when creating music for movies, Knaifel replied:
- Feelings are different, because cinema is a model of life. And in life, as is known, passion is seething, not without reason say that from love to hatred one step. But, most importantly, all the emotions experienced by the creator are life-giving.

IV International festival-competition of student's works "INTONATIONS-2017" is completed. Having given the opportunity to creative self-expression to future sound engineers, it opened new names. Ahead of them - a long and, we hope, a happy journey in art.
