Students of the University took part in the science and technology festival "Science Fest"

2 August 2017

A large-scale exhibition "Science Fest" took part in Saint-Petersburg. During the exhibition young scientists were able to demonstrate their inventions and the principle of their work, and fans of IT-technologies independently tested the latest developments from the world of science. Students of the Department of Multimedia Directing took an active part in the event as participants and volunteers.

Lumiere Hall for several days became a great intellectual platform, where within the framework of the festival there were lectures on the topic of the newest technologies and inventions from the world of science were demonstrated. On "Science Fest" was presented an extensive part dedicated to neurotechnology. Future multimedia directors of our University learned how to operate a quadrocopter by the power of thought, learned how the neurointerfaces work and became heroes of the game with the help of a neuro-headset.

On the festival students listened to a unique lecture from the global organization VR / AR Association (The VRARA), created for the development of virtual reality and augmented reality. The knowledge that was conveyed by the representatives of the company to the listeners can be considered invaluable - the future of technology and their introduction into society is on the map.

By the decision of the Scientific Council of our University in September 2017, the Department of Multimedia and Animation Directing will be established, as well as negotiations are under way to establish the Base Department together with Lumiere Hall. Our University closely follows the development of advanced technologies, because the sphere of cinema and television is that branch where any new invention can change the notion about long-established standards.
