Students on the professional stage

11 February 2020

On February 7 and 8, the long-awaited premiere of the play "Romeo and Juliet" by William Shakespeare in the brilliant production of one of the best European directors Alexander Morfov took place in the St. Petersburg Youth Theater. Set design was done by the famous theater artist Semyon Shepherd. At the end of 2019 Alexander Morfov attended the acting test, consisting of passages from Shakespeare’s plays and invited many students to participate in the upcoming premiere.

It is pleasant to realize that student-actors of our university are involved in this bright event of the theater season 2020. Along with the leading actors of the Youth Theater, you can see 10 students from the workshop of E.R. Ganelin: O. Pasternak, P. Vasiliev, R. Korsakova, S. Bolshakova, K. Osipova, A. Bondarenko, V. Getmanov, A. Komarov, S. Avralev, V. Podnozov. In a sharply modern performance, they play episodic roles, conquering the audience with an accurate understanding of the stage characters, with sharp verified plastic. They merrily and organically joined the acting ensemble of the play. It is worth noting that as an assistant to the director of the production, the assistant professor of the department M. G. Lukina (Bychkova) took part in the work with students. The performance undoubtedly became a highlight in the life of our students, who took their first confident steps on the professional stage.
