30, June, Andreas Hoffmann, an Art Director of the Company of art curators and producers Pikene på Broen (Norway), visited the St.Petersburg State University of Film and Television.  In St. Petersburg, he took an active part in the European Biennial of Contemporary Art MANIFESTA 10 and found time to talk with representatives of the University, which is one of the partner of the exhibition MANIFESTA 10.

Art Production Company Pikene på Broen was established in 1996 and it is based in the north-eastern part of Norway in Kirkenes not far from the border with Russia. Tenth of the city's population are Russian-speaking residents, so Andreas Hoffmann sees the mission of the company in building cultural bridges between the neighboring countries. The main project of Pikene på Broen is an annual festival of various art forms, from ballet to the movies, and in 2009 the company was awarded the Eckbos Legaters Culture Prize for turning Kirkenes  to important geopolitical cultural center.

Awaring of the leading positions of our university in training specialists for film industry and television, Andreas Hoffmann  came to negotiate with the Head of International Relations Office  Konstantin  Glasman and Head of the Dpartment of Directing Sergei Ovcharov. The Norwegian producer suggested   to arrange the participation of the university graduates works at the Festival in Kirkenes - according to him, it will allow residents of the neighboring countries to know each other better. After that, the Department of Directing organized a brief retrospective of graduation films,  and then Andreas Hoffmann gladly accepted the invitation to attend the University Student Film Festival Peterkit  in autumn,  2014.
